Introduction

The CS Executive exam is the second level in the process to become a qualified Company Secretary through the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). It occurs twice a year, usually in June and December. The exam is very important, as it assesses applicants' knowledge of Company Law, Tax Laws, Accounting, and General Laws. Knowing the passing percentage gives applicants key insights to understand the competitiveness of the exam, the bar they should aim at preparing for the exam, and what should be the expectations leading in and going into the exam.

If you want to strengthen your preparation with mock tests, performance analysis, and expert guidance, explore our CS Executive Test Series – designed to help you practice under real exam conditions and improve your accuracy and time management skills.

CS Executive Passing Percentage: An Overview

ICSI defines the passing criteria as follows:

  • A candidate must achieve at least 40% marks in each paper.

  • Also, an aggregate of 50%  must be achieved in each module, Group 1 and Group 2.

The pass percentage refers to the proportion of candidates passing the module – that attained both the passing requirements (40% per paper) and aggregate requirements (50% aggregate) of exam session.

Expected Passing Percentage for CS Executive June 2025

As of the latest updates, ICSI has officially released the CS Executive June 2025 pass percentages for the new (2022) syllabus:

  • Group 1: 14.57%

  • Group 2: 24.82%

This information was published shortly after the results were declared on August 25, 2025.

From the table, it's evident that:

  • Group 1 pass percentage has remained relatively low—hovering around 8–16% in recent sessions.

  • Group 2 has a comparatively higher pass rate, often between 20–30%.

Factors Affecting CS Executive Passing Percentage

Several elements influence the pass rates:

  1. Exam Difficulty & Paper Pattern: The complexity of questions and changes in syllabus structure can directly impact pass percentages.

  2. Syllabus Changes (Old vs. New): Transition to the 2022 syllabus reflects different difficulty levels and adjustment periods. For example, Group 1 June 2024 under the new syllabus had only an 8.15% pass, compared to 22.71% under the old syllabus.

  3. Volume & Preparedness of Candidates: The number of test-takers and their readiness significantly influences pass outcomes.

  4. Evaluation Standards: Stringency and marking norms applied by evaluators can sway overall results.

  5. External Factors: Disruptions like pandemics, exam center constraints, or policy changes can affect examinees’ performance.

How Much You Need to Score to Pass CS Executive

Here’s what you must score to qualify:

  • Achieve ≥40% in each individual paper.

  • Secure an aggregate score of ≥50% across all papers in the group.

Example Calculation (assuming each module has four papers, each worth 100 marks):

  • Paper-wise marks: 45, 55, 48, 62 → all above 40%.

  • Aggregate: (45 + 55 + 48 + 62) / 400 = 210 / 400 = 52.5% → meets the 50% aggregate threshold.

Note: ICSI also offers exemption under specific circumstances: If a candidate scores 60% or more in one paper, and at least 25% in all other papers of the same module, they may get exemption from reappearing in that high-scoring paper.

Tips to Clear CS Executive in June 2025

Here are focused strategies to build confidence and improve outcomes:

  1. Understand the Pattern: Review past papers and previous attempts to grasp the exam structure, weightage of topics, and level of difficulty. Group 1 has had a lower pass rate over the years, so plan more time for difficult topics like Company Law and Tax Laws.

  1. Structured Study Plan: Prepare a time table for your study plan with all subjects in an organized manner. Allocate the hours for topics you know you struggle with more than other topics. Include revision and mock tests in your timetable. Take manageable sections of the syllabus and break it down into daily targets.

  2. Master High-Weightage Topics:Some topics will definitely have more marks relative to others. These should be easy to identify using the ICSI study material and past year papers. Topics such as Company Law, Taxation, and Financial Management are core topics that gain you marks. Cover these topics before moving onto the lower weightage topics.

  1. Practice with Purpose: The practice of merely reading will not be enough—you must practice with past year papers, mock tests, and case studies for speed and accuracy.

  1. Time Management: The high number of aspirants who fail will be largely attributed to time mismanagement in the exam hall. Practice the papers within three hours in exam-like conditions. Learn to strategize your time, know how much time can you spend on solving a question, give buffer time for revisions.

  1. Regular Self-Assessment: It is important to evaluate your preparation from time to time with topic-wise tests and full-tests. Early detection of weak topics will boost your confidence to study them before your exam.

  1. Exam Strategy: Before the exam, make a clear plan on how to attempt the exam.Attempt the easy questions when your brain is fresh to score markers quickly.Don't spend too much time on a question.Find a balance between speed and accuracy.

  1. Revision & Notes: In the final 15-20 days, you should have a heavy focus on revision. However, short notes, summary charts and formula sheets should be suitably made ahead of time for quicker revisions.

  1. Stay Updated and Motivated:Keep yourself informed on the ICSI notifications and amendments in law. Join study groups to keep yourself motivated and learn different ways of knowing.

Conclusion

To summarize:

  • CS Executive results for June 2025 were declared on August 25, 2025, with pass percentages standing at 14.57% (Group 1) and 24.82% (Group 2).

  • Historically, these rates align with the exam’s competitive nature, especially under the 2022 syllabus.

  • Understanding the passing norms (≥40% per paper, ≥50% aggregate) and strategic preparation are key to success.

  • Focus on consistent, disciplined study, targeted practice, and intelligent exam strategy to improve your chances.

Introduction

Every CA Final aspirant wants to improve their scores—but the path from "average" to "outstanding" is not about learning more. It's about learning smarter. And along this path, CA Final Test Series have a life-changing function. Underappreciated, test series are not mock exams—they are performance analysis tools, error correction techniques, strategy development mechanisms, and confidence builders.

In this blog, we'll find out how CA Final test series can assist you in filling the gap between average and outstanding performance, and how you can utilize them best in your preparation process.

1. Realizing the "Average" Trap

Students tend to score 40-55 marks in subjects even after working hard. Why?

  • Lack of exam temperament

  • Poor time management in papers

  • Failure to apply concepts in a pressured situation

  • Frequent silly errors

  • Shallow understanding without practice in application

This is the "average" area—where hard work doesn't pay off in terms of high marks. To escape this area, you need practice on actual-exams, and that's what a structured CA Final Test Series Program offers.

2. Imitating the Actual ICAI Exam Experience

One of the greatest strengths of preparing for CA Final test series is that they imitate the ICAI exam situation. This involves:

  • Writing papers within a 3-hour strict time frame

  • Practicing full length case-study based questions

  • Preparing answers according to ICAI presentation norms

  • Overcoming pressure, fatigue, and mental blocks

Practicing under exam-like conditions provides you with mental stamina and examination confidence—the twin requisites of exceptional scores.

3. Building a Sharp Answer-Writing Technique

You may know the concept well, but if your answer doesn’t reflect clarity, structure, and precision, it won’t fetch marks.

A good CA Final test series helps you improve:

  • Answer structuring

  • Point-wise formatting

  • Use of ICAI keywords

  • Presentation style

This type of continuous writing and feedback is what separates average answer writing from rank-worthy scripts.

4. Learning from Mistakes Before It’s Too Late

Test series provide a safe environment to make mistakes—and more importantly, to learn from them.

Whether it’s incorrect interpretation, calculation errors, or missing keywords in Law/Audit, the CA Final test series with evaluation helps you:

  • Identify blind spots

  • Fix recurring errors

  • Get subject-specific feedback

Every paper becomes an opportunity to grow before the actual exam.

5. Mastering Time Management – The Silent Score Booster

Time management can make or break your CA Final paper. Practicing with a scheduled CA Final Test Series teaches you:

  • How to divide time per question

  • Which sections to attempt first

  • How to keep buffer time for revision

Over time, this practice builds your exam discipline, allowing you to complete all questions with quality presentation.

6. Developing a Subject-Wise Strategy

Each CA Final subject is unique. A one-size-fits-all approach doesn't work.

  • SFM needs speed and accuracy

  • Audit/Law demand keyword-rich answers

  • SCMPE requires conceptual clarity and logical structuring

An ideal CA Final Test Series Plan helps you customize your approach per subject, ensuring you play to your strengths and improve your weaknesses.

7. Tracking Your Progress – The Performance Curve

Test series help you build a performance tracking system. Every paper shows where you stand and how you’re improving:

  • Test 1: 52 marks

  • Test 2: 59 marks

  • Test 3: 67 marks

This rising curve shows what’s working and what’s not. It also boosts your motivation and creates a sense of measurable progress, which is crucial in a long preparation journey.

8. Boosting Exam Confidence and Reducing Anxiety

One of the most underrated benefits of test series is how they prepare your mind for the big day.

After writing 8–10 full-length mocks, the final ICAI paper doesn’t feel new anymore. You walk into the exam hall with:

  • Familiarity with question types

  • Tried-and-tested time strategy

  • Confidence in your presentation style

  • Mental calmness under pressure

This mental conditioning is often the final push that takes your score from average to outstanding.

9. Making Your Last Revision Smarter

The last month before exams is crucial. By then, your mock test performance will tell you:

  • Which topics to revise again

  • Where you're losing marks

  • Which paper formats fetch more marks

Using insights from a feedback-based test series allows you to revise smartly instead of randomly.

10. Turning Feedback into Action – The Growth Formula

Most importantly, test series give you structured feedback—the key to moving from average to outstanding.

Every evaluation report in our CA Final Test Series with detailed checking includes:

  • Chapter-wise marking

  • Answer improvement tips

  • Conceptual gaps

  • Presentation corrections

By acting on this feedback, you enter the growth zone—the place where consistent scores above 65–70 become your new normal.

Bonus: What Rankers Do Differently in Test Series

  • Treat every mock as the real exam

  • Attempt even unprepared topics to test understanding

  • Maintain a mistake logbook

  • Revise based on feedback

  • Use performance analysis to tweak strategy

You can do the same—starting today.

Final Words

Scoring high in CA Final is not about genius—it’s about consistency, feedback, and performance-focused preparation. A good test series is your training ground, where you prepare, fail, improve, and finally win.

Mastering the syllabus is not merely about preparing for the CA Final—it's mastering your mind as well. Most aspirants spend hours attending classes and revisions but fall short of giving due attention to the psychological aspect of exam preparation, particularly when it comes to test series. Surprisingly, the way you think, feel, and respond during mock tests can go a long way in determining your final outcome. In this blog, we discuss the less-talked-about side of test series psychology and how it affects CA Final performance.

Understanding Test Series Psychology

Test Series Psychology is a term used to describe mental and emotional patterns that students undergo while taking mock tests. Some of the patterns are:

  • Test fear and fear of failure

  • Overconfidence or underconfidence

  • Self-doubt vs. belief in oneself

  • Mindset under time constraint

  • Emotional reaction to marks and feedback

Whether positive or negative, these psychological factors become the determining factor for how well a student performs during both the test series as well as the final exam.

Why Psychology Matters in Test Series

In most students' approach, mock tests are nothing but another study work. Yet, mental reaction during mock tests usually resembles the mental state during the real CA Final exam.

1. Fear of Low Scores

Most students are reluctant to take test series due to fear of obtaining low marks. Anxiety is the result of this fear, and anxiety suppresses clear thinking. Therefore, the very aim of a test series—correction and identification of mistakes—gets lost.

Impact:

  • Avoidance of tests

  • Lowered performance due to nervousness

  • Unrealistic self-evaluation

2. Test Series Develops Exam Temperament

CA Final is a pressure-charged exam. You have to solve a heavy paper in 3 hours. The test series enables you to replicate that pressure and develop your exam temperament. But only if you do it seriously and conscientiously.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced time management

  • Enhanced ability to think clearly under pressure

  • Enhanced stamina and mental endurance

3. Marks Are Not the Enemy—They're a Mirror

Most students allow test series marks to influence their self-esteem. They take a 40 or a 50 as failure. On the contrary, these marks are diagnostic tools and not judgments.

Psychological Trap:

  • Taking feedback personally

  • Ignoring critical comments

  • Becoming demotivated after one poor test

Healthier Mindset:

  • Use marks as a roadmap to improvement

  • Celebrate small progress

  • Accept failure as feedback, not finality

4. The Overconfidence Bubble

Some students ace the first few mocks and fall into the trap of overconfidence. They stop analyzing mistakes or ignore feedback. This false confidence backfires in the final exam when unpredictable questions appear.

How to Avoid:

  • Continue analyzing each mock test deeply

  • Track your performance chapter-wise

  • Don't stop practicing just because you scored well once

5. Performance Anxiety and Time Pressure

Mock tests are the best place to train your brain to remain calm under time pressure. However, some students freeze during tests, even when they know the answer. This is called cognitive overload due to stress.

Tip:

  • Practice deep breathing before starting mocks

  • Train your brain to focus only on the next question, not the clock

  • Attempt at least 8–10 mocks to desensitize yourself to anxiety

How to Build a Positive Test Series Psychology

The good news is—your mindset can be trained. Here’s how you can condition your brain to treat test series as a performance enhancer instead of a stress trigger.

1. Change Your Perspective

Instead of viewing mock tests as pass/fail checkpoints, see them as practice matches before the big game. Even top athletes lose matches in practice but use them to sharpen skills.

2. Track Progress Over Time

One bad test doesn't define your ability. What matters is your trend of improvement. Keep a performance tracker:

  • Test date

  • Score

  • Weak areas identified

  • Corrective action taken

This builds confidence over time.

3. Simulate Real Exam Conditions

  • Sit in a quiet room

  • Use an OMR sheet (if applicable)

  • Avoid phone or breaks

  • Start at 2 PM (actual exam time)

This tells your brain: “This is serious.” Over time, your body and mind sync with exam-day expectations.

4. Learn to Review Like an Examiner

Don’t just check how many marks you got. Go deeper:

  • Did you lose marks due to presentation?

  • Did you miss keywords?

  • Was the concept clear but writing weak?

  • Did you panic and skip a question?

This reflection develops metacognition—a powerful learning tool.

5. Reward Yourself for Effort, Not Just Results

Train your brain to associate effort with reward. After every mock, reward yourself with something small:

  • A treat

  • A 30-minute break

  • A short movie

This builds positive reinforcement and reduces fear of tests.

Real-Life Examples: Psychological Shifts That Worked

Case 1: Ritu (Scored 74 in Audit)

Initially froze during every mock. Worked on breathing exercises and time simulations. By the 5th test, anxiety dropped, scores increased, and confidence soared.

Case 2: Aman (Failed Twice Before Passing with AIR)

Avoided mocks due to fear of low marks. When he finally started writing them, realized his real issue was presentation. Fixed it. Passed in next attempt with distinction.

Final Thoughts

The CA Final exam doesn't just test your knowledge—it tests your mental resilience, confidence, and response under pressure. That’s why taking mock tests isn’t just a study task—it’s psychological training.

Your mindset during test series often reflects your mindset in the actual exam. Build your confidence, accept feedback positively, and treat every test as a step towards mastery. Remember: A strong mind clears tough papers.
